New York Sour

You don’t need to be a pro to master the simple yet beautiful New York Sour. Its dram-atic colour comes from a float of red wine. @thehobbydrinkchef recommends a fruity red like Shiraz for this four ingredient cocktail with a tasty maple twist. What’s a staple simple cocktail in your home bar?

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 parts Bourbon
  • 3/4 parts Lemon Juice
  • 3/4 parts Maple Syrup
  • Red Wine to float

METHOD

Add all ingredients to a mixing tin with ice and shake. Strain over fresh ice, then, slowly pour the red wine over the back of a barspoon, close to the surface of the drink, to float.
